Our History
Canon Ndimbirwe Bible College (CNBC) is located in matebe cell, Kyamakanda ward, Buyanja Town Council, Rukungiri District in south west Uganda. It is 1 km from the Rukungiri - Mbarara highway.
CNBC was established in 1983 to train church workers in the Diocese of North Kigezi that was carved out of the vast Kigezi Diocese. It was named after the late Rev. Canon Semu Ndimbirwe, one of the first clergymen of Kigezi who was the first rural Dean of Kinyasano of the then greater Kigezi Diocese in the 1950s. Rev Canon Ndimbirwe was ordained in 1941 and became an outstanding church planter, leader educator and an icon in the renowned East African Revival movement.
Overtime, CNBC has been training church leaders to serve in the Anglican church of Uganda in both ordained and lay ministries. It has been pivotal in training graduates who have impacted the lives of many people for Christ Jesus in Uganda and beyond.
CNBC seeks to form and equip students with academic and practical gospel ministry skills, increasing knowledge of scriptures and students’ ability to apply them as they intersect with the church and the world, developing life and pastoral skills. Further, the college will assist students to be able to identify themselves as children of God who imitate the character of Christ Jesus and who, therefore, know themselves to be disciples making disciples
Today, CNBC is a diverse and vibrant theological, biblical and practical ministry training center of choice, spreading the gospel among the people of Uganda, East Africa, plus Africa and beyond.
